Brett  Matherne, LAC is the owner and CEO of New Start Recovery. He graduated from Nicholls State University.  Brett has 26  years of experience in supervising, administration, and counseling in the addiction field. Brett is a Licensed Addiction Counselor. He has 33  years of recovery and sobriety himself. He was born and raised in  Houma, LA, and brings his personal experience and understanding of the unique culture of South La. Brett is married with one son. Brett enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing. 

Reginald Owens, MS, CIT is a counselor. He is a graduate of our program and carries 8 years of recovery and sobriety himself. He completed his Masters Degree from Purdue University in Addiction Counseling. Reginald is a life long resident of Houma, LA. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children and fishing any chance he gets. 

Our staff has over 37 years of sobriety and recovery.

We work with fully licensed therapists, addictionologists, psychiatrists, and physicians that have a strong background and experience in working in the addiction field.
